I'm building my first homepage. I would like get FTP setup, but how?

I signed up for Geocities at Yahoos. From their web site, they suggest to use WS_FTP Pro 6.5 software. Since i'm not buying that software, that's for only 30 days. Is there any other FTP software that is FREE or any good ones you recommend? I'm new to building web site and I don't know how to start.
Anyone who have setup FTP or have built homepage, please give me some inputs.

Just use the WSFTP LE It's the free version and works just as well. The only thing that you don't get with the free version, that I like, is the ability to have a download restart where it left off. There are other features, but that one would be the most important to me.

There are plenty of other free ftp programs out there as well. Just check out http://www.tucows.com

Maybe I'm weird (okay, I'm pretty sure about that), but I've had the limited/freeware version of WS_FTP resume downloads with no problems many a time...

Could be the version I was using was over a year old. I don't use it anymore. So maybe they're included that now.

The one I like is CuteFTP. I believe it's free, just go to http://www.download.com and search for it.

CuteFTP is shareware (http://www.cuteftp.com). Another popular client is BulletProof (http://www.bpftp.com), which is also shareware. If you're really masochistic, there's always dos telnet (start>run>command>ftp / open <site>).
