i'm bored: lets recount some of our favorite futurama moments

The one where Bender was Santa.

Leela: "Remember Professor, Bender is Santa, so we don't need to hurt him, riiight?"

Farnsworth: "Yes, yes, yes. you sound like a broken MP3."

Bender, coming down chimney: "Ho ho-"

Fansworth shoots him with a shotgun.

Leela: "Professor, don't you remember what I told you?"

Fansworth: "NOOOOOOO!!!"
Shoots Bender again.




And, in the third episode, Hermes is talking about the owl problem.
"And I for one am gettin' tired of cleanin' those owl traps."
Then in the background, *SNAP* WHOOO!!!


I also loved the bit in the episode where Bender was rigging a horse race While anesthetizing the horses, he used hyposprays, faithfully duplicated out of Star Trek TNG.
I always liked the subtle stuff that they put into the episodes. Like the holoshed on the Nimbus - the door is right out of TNG too.

So many:

-Star Trek episode, when Shatner does the KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN yell during Jeopardy
-Roswell episode, Fry "What crazy thing are you guys yelling about?" and Fry's grandfather getting nuked while looking at the man on the calendar
-Ep where Fry gets worms and Hermes mentions that his grandmother's Jerked Prunes are "Carribean Drano"; same ep when Zoidberg shows Fry the tiny camera, Fry opens his mouth to swallow it and Zoidberg says "Guess Again"
-the one where the 80's guy gets unfrozen and buys Planet Express, I love the random guy who yells about the stock sale "I AM ZORELL, MASTER OF SCHEDULES"
-the one that ends with Fry finding his nephew's tomb and "Don't You Forget About Me" plays as the camera zooms out.


What a great show.

This is the episode when they discover the poplers that turn out to be the young from omnicrom persei 8, and then the adults show up and are going to eat lela in retribuition.

And then he eats the hippie and gets stoned:

"Woah . . . my hands are huuuuuge . . . they can touch anything but themselves . . . . "

then he puts his hands together and we get "oh, wait . . . "

Yeah, that was sad. I couldnt' believe it didn't end with a happy moment! WTF kind of cartoon is that?!

And when Fry found out it wasn't his brother who took his identity... but his brother named his son in his honor.

Or the one where him and Leela got stinged by the giant bee... man, another great story with a tearful ending.

I seriously can't believe they ended Futurama, when there are so many inane crap on TV.

Hey, did you guys know Zoidberg makes frequent cameo appearances in the modern Duck Dodgers cartooons. It's hilarious. Zoidberg is such an awesome character.

the second anthologies of interest episode where fry imagines what life would be like if it were a video game. lrr beats him in a space invaders game and when he lands all these characters like q-bert and donkey kong come out of the spaceship.

lrr: "instead of shooting where i was, you should have shot at where i was going to be!"

then one of the vid game characters goes "all your base are belong to us" :)

Sort of one of those bittersweet moments I guess, with Fry and his dog. The dog found someone to be with, and he waited to the end for his friend to return.

The Sting - also a good episode. It especially sucks with Futurama that they cancelled it just as the episodes were starting to get really good. Maybe a decent network could pick the show up again, but I don't know if that'll happen anymore.

I seriously can't believe they ended Futurama, when there are so many inane crap on TV.

That's what Fox generally airs. Futurama was anything but inane crap, so it had no place on Fox.:p

Well, he didn't want to revive the dog, because he figured the dog found a better life with him gone. But the dog waited all that time. Even thinking about it is making me sad!

im absolutely shocked that no one has mentioned any quotes from zap branigan:

two of my favorites:

"branigan's law is like branigan's love. hard and fast."
"The Dominoes will fall like a house of cards...checkmate"

and then the episode with the 80s investment banker where fry offers him a job working for planet express. the 80s guy looks at fry straight in the eyes:

"awesome. awesome to the max"

much of the hilarity is the way he said it.
