What is wrong with some people?

I was waiting at a stoplight today getting ready to turn right and saw some guy waiting for the light in the other direction repeatedly slapping the female(his wife?, girfriend?) on the face with his right hand but palm facing her. Talk about a disturbing thing to see. :disgust:

He was a bum looking dude in a crappy looking car. I felt bad for the chick as he was a beefy dude. :(

That or a mom getting all bent out of shape at her little girl in Wal-mart, we are all just angry little monkies.

I heard a story of when my grandpa was younger, he saw a man slap a woman. My grandpa walked up to him like he meant business, the man (who had a crutch) told my grandpa, "you wouldn't hit a man with a crutch, would you?" My grandpa says "no" and takes the man's crutch away and proceeds to whoop his @ss.

Maybe she looked for it?

No woman deserves to be hit physically IMO

I completely agree. This woman looked very terrified and distraught.

If I had extreme issues with any female while driving a car the worst thing I might do is stop the car and make her get out or simply get out myself. I was raised to believe that hitting females is wrong and that is definitely part of what upset me seeing this.

Not the first time anyway. Once she knows what's gonna happen, staying makes it her choice.

I disagree for once. Women need to be put in their place while men work hard and provide for the home. Shall they stray from their duties, they should be put back in the line using necessary force. Sometimes slapping is good for them serving as a reminder of who's the boss. On the otherhand you PC westerners may disagree but I think you're all a bunch of excuse driven wussies.

And you didn't do anything? Didn't write down the license plate number or anything? Well that probably wouldn't do any good come to think of it. Cops would come to the house, she'd deny it, he'd give her another beating.

I saw some guy hitting his kid in the back seat while in traffic today. If I weren't heading for the DMV to take my road test, I would have rammed the back of his car. It didn't look too bad on the kids though.

Men hitting women is just plain wrong. Some cultures think it's ok to gang rape women to teach them or their families a lesson but homie ain't buying that sh1t either.

If you can't control your woman with your words you have no control.

Wrong. If your women can't listen to your gentle words, she should be slapped. The shock factor is greater this way and it reduces future conflict.

Maybe they were Moslem.

"Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more strength than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in the husband's absence what Allah would have them guard. As to those women on whom part you fear disloyalty and ill conduct, admonish them first, next refuse to share their beds, and last beat them; but if they return to obedience, look not for any way against them for Allah is Most High, Great above you all. (Quran, 4:34)"

We should respect his wife-beating beliefs.

See, this is where we differ. It isn't wife-beating. It's a light preventative effort into creating a harmonous and ever long-lasting love and respect in a family in a world where people no longer take responsibilities amoungst themselves. It's deep love.

Heh. What can I say? WRONG. There's a difference between a spouse obeying you out of respect and a spouse obeying you out of fear. I find it hard to believe that even most Japanese think like you do.
