im begging for help

im desperate for help. it seems that i cant install any games on my computer because of this error "internal error 2350" ... it says it cant read a certain cab file for some games. the games i hav are new and seem to work fine at friends' computers. please help me its up to u ppl to save me. I appreciate any assisstance.

My system is:
amd athlon 64 3800+ skt 939
asus a8n-sli with nforce4 (latest bios)
1024 ddr-ram dual channel
2 x MSI nvidia 6600gt in sli mode
win xp pro + sp2
onboard ac97 sound (i think this is part of the problem)

My guess is that you need the latest version of windows installer...

i got original half-life 2 i had a copy of farcry which im gonna put in microwave out of desperation. Half-life 2 gives me an error which i think relates to the 2350 devil since the setup cannot detect a *.cab file and trust me the cd's are not corrupt.
by the way the instmsiw.exe tells me i hav "wrong os or os version". this is a nightmare

uh, try this one but it says its for windows 98... else try googling Windows installer. I don't know if windows update will prompt you to update it or not...

nope doesnt work
i got the latest windows installer 3.1 i dun think thats problem
one thing that worked yesterday
- i went to dxdiag turn sound acceleration off it overcame one cab file but then towards the end corrupted

i had daemon tools and some1 recommended i uninstall it so i did that solve the problem for one cab file but the setup displayed a 2350 error for another cab file half-way. Any tips
