Why didn't youse Republicans do something about it during the 6 years when you had the presidency, senate, and house?

Oh that's right...it wasn't a problem then...and your business supporters need the cheap labor.

What's really ironic is that Hillary Clinton was one of the few during those times trying to get the government to clamp down on illegal immigration but Bush and Co did absolutely nothing, in fact, he got the whole amnesty for those already here talk going which drastically INCREASED the flow of illegals into the country.

No point in arguing with TehMac though...he sees things as he wants to see them regardless of the facts.

that's not his point.

He's not saying "teh Mexicans all suck," he's saying that a lot of Latinos here tend to leach off the public services , especially the ones who come here illegally.
Legalizing illegal immigrants is a Democrat ploy to get more Democrat voters and in the process turn the country into a shit hole like Mexico with Pelosi, Reid, and Obama the kings of the Garbage Hill.

On the flip side, I know several Hispanics (Guatemalans, Mexicans, Bolivians) who busted their asses getting here, they came legally, they acquire greencard/citizenship and are in school studying to become physicists, businessmen/woman, etc.

Although most are hesitant to discuss the subject, they despise illegal immigrants because they're cheats.
Yes because certainly we are the only ones who use public services. Ffs get your head out of your ass, you and I both know everyone uses them, whether black, white, etc. You're just butt hurt because they're illegal. I know a lot of illegals that DON'T use public services aside from schooling but yes there are some here that do, thanks mostly to crappy SF.

Hey, I was always against illegal immigration, but the fact is that the Republican party was a corrupt animal house. Bush was hardly a Republican, in fact his whole family come from a long line of Left wing "progressives." His economic and domestic policies reflected this.

Many Republicans were Republicans-in-name-only and just switched their political alliances to ride the wave (Olympias Snowe, Cunningham, etc)

That is in part why the Tea Parties are happening and gaining such tremendous ground. Ordinary Americans are tired of voting for shitty candidates just because they're better than others, they want real delegates unafraid to speak their mind, and similarly unafraid to vote for measures that will protect the integrity of the constitution.

Many democrat and republican voters attend these rallies, not because they're angry white people (as MSNBC would have you believe) but because they want real change.

Speaking of MSNBC, they actually tried to deny as many Black people out of the Tea Parties as possible.

On Tuesday, MSNBC’s Contessa Brewer fretted over health care reform protesters legally carrying guns: "A man at a pro-health care reform rally...wore a semiautomatic assault rifle on his shoulder and a pistol on his hip....there are questions about whether this has racial overtones....white people showing up with guns." Brewer failed to mention the man she described was black.

Sorry bro, Democrats don't give a shit about equal rights, about reality. If they find out their twisted interpretation of reality is incorrect, they blot it out from memory.

I'm not just bitching about them using public services. That's a utilitarian argument at its basest.

There are far more complex reasons why illegals should be kicked out of the country. The most common sense argument is that they are here *shock* illegally.

Also, fyi, I have been paying taxes since I was 16 (technically earlier), illegals haven't.

edit: also, you know illegals? What are you, a mule?

Clinton is just an opportunist, she saw there was a movement and tried to jump on it. When she was running in 2008, she was the one proposing Green Cards left and right.

But I understand, life is complicated like that. Lots of very manipulative people, it can be very hard to keep track, especially when you're being constantly being jerked around on two wheels.

I'm not gonna get into details since the title alone probably already puts this thread on the verge of getting locked, so here's the short version:

I live in new england and 99% of the hispanics I encounter (and there are a LOT of them to encounter, btw) contribute very little back to the community they live in.

Tell me why I'm wrong. Draw some parallels with past racial prejudices, e.g. Polish, Irish, etc. I've tried to do this myself, but it's not really working.

Is hispanic immigration and their perception by the majority following the same path as previous waves of immigrants? Are they assimilating at the same rate, and it just seems different because I'm witnessing it instead of reading about it in a book?

Hahahaha. Try living in SoCal and watching them drive!
