i was installing mandrake last night, and i accidentally installed it on the partition where i keep all my stuff - mp3z, progz, personal stuff, and seti.

looks like i'll be down for a day or so. 🙁

on a bright note, i am posting this from linux so at least i was able to get my modem online. 😉
 
I bought a new Western Digital HD a few weeks ago and made the mistake of moving 10 GB of MP3's onto it. The HD crashed in a week and I lost it all. 🙁 And now that Napster s@cks, I may never get some of the music back! I still haven't gotten around to re-ripping the music from my own CD's yet - what a drag.
 
I dont envy anyone that makes the move to linux. But the guy that gets a damn modem working in Linux1!!!! took me 2 months and 3 installs to get my modem going....

i learned my lesson the last time that i messed with linux and i picked up a hardware modem. piece of cake to get online. 😀
 
Only had positive experiences with linux lately. Configured apache, ncftpd, gatos(gotta love TV on a PC) and RC5 in 2 hours last night.... and it is all stable
