I enjoy making sarcastic comments on current events especially politics via Facebook. Now before you read, I'm close to moderate but lean more to the conservative side. I support healthcare form but not necessarily in it's current state. The comment below is one I made about the left wingers complaining about right wingers disrupting town hall meetings. Most people with any common sense should realize both sides of the political spectrum have their extremists and nutjobs. I'm TX and the person of interest is LOL.
TX: Protest is a right...unless it involves healthcare.
OTHER 1: Protest is always a right. Inane wailing and distraction in a question-and-answer setting is just crappy behavior.
TX: Unfortunately crappy behavior isn't illegal in most cases. I love how the left pretends like it's never had it's fair share of rambunctious protests. Don't taze me!
OTHER 2: I want to make stupidity illegal. That goes for the protesters AND the politicians. Sentence: Death. Timeframe: Immediate.
LOL: where is protest a right? freedom of assembly, yes... but *thumbs through the bill of rights*... I don't see where protest is covered...
TX: Assembly, petition, and speech sound like protest to me.
LOL: Protest sounds like people have sticks and fire. Petition seems more like a silent auction.
OTHER 2: Semantics and hair-splitting. Call it a freaking rally, a public gathering to show solidarity, whatever.
Do my comments seem too extreme? I never even supported the right wingers. Part of believing in the Constitution is giving freedom of speech, assembly, and petition to all people. Anyways, I was surprised to see a message show up in my inbox later that day:
No offense
LOL: Dude... I don't think I can be your friend anymore... thanks, though... it was fun to see what an extremist you are... trust me when I say that I unfriend liberal people too... Take care.
TX: What did I say that was extremist?
LOL: You're just always pissed off in all your posts. Whatever is happening in the world, you're disgusted by as if you could do any better in a figurehead position.
TX: Most people I know enjoy my slightly sarcastic comments on politics and news. I'm not sure why you think I'm pissed off all the time or could do better in a figurehead position.
So does anyone else find this extremely weird?
And yes, she actually defriend me...
CLIFFS:
*I make a sarcastic comment about the right wingers protesting healthcare at town hall meetings, but say it's still a right.
*Friend doesn't think protest is protected.
*I disagreed citing parts of the 1st Ammendment.
*She calls me an extremist and defriends me.
*I reply back asking what I said that was extreme.
*She says I'm always pissed and think I can do better than the leaders in power.
*I think WTF
