I think the man has internet wooooos. I was shopping for my daughter online PC hardware. Went to a safe site and got hit with a node bot. Dam it was hard to get rid of. I still have a bot . I can't do anything about . Its inactive but noway to remove . Another node bot. Not even the mighty MS can do anything after its in your system . I did about the best I could to stop it from becoming active. But its still on this machine. Bot I nobodies bot.

Ive thrown bad ram at the wall for pissing me off on hours and hours of debuging... but thats about it.

Well i actually threw my cpu down cause i was pissed of with my father( that was my father's pc )

Each sub-forum's moderators wield the stick of thread locks with more or less stringency based on the poster's history (are they more annoying than value-add on average for the forum)), forum readers response to the presence of the thread (is the majority of folks enjoying the thread or disgusted with it), as well as the prevalence/abundance/propensity for OT threads to be created in that particular sub-forum.

One or two OT (and entertaining/enjoyable) threads floating around the top of the CPU forum is not necessarily a bad thing. They stay near the top because the forum readers are interested in them and it prolly means things in CPU world are otherwise at a lull as the CPU threads are not pushing the OT thread off the first page.

Discretion is the better part of valor. Some forums need to be moderated in black/white mode or else they become entirely dysfunctional (vid forum) others seem to pretty well self-moderate thanks to the laid back approach of the mods combined with the self-restraint and quality of posters involved in the threads.

That's not to say this forum doesn't have its bad eggs, just saying the symptoms of the disease tends to be limited to extremities we don't seem to mind having those symptoms.
