I'm about to start a new workout / diet regimen...

I have followed a modified version (fewer carbs) for the last couple of years. I did not need to lose weight but I was looking for a lifestyle change and Bill's program was just what I needed. If you stick with it the program will change your body and your mind forever. Good luck.

i have to say that this is the diet plan my mom was on and it really worked. She had tried the atkins thing and a few others, but this one was the gem. I have the book sitting in my living room, i guess i should read it!

Good luck btw!

What's the point, you will give up a week later. Might as well just finish that bad of potatoe chips.

some people actually care about their health. People do actually follow good diets, don't thread crap when people are asking for help.

thx, everyone.

i think one of the "selling points" in this plan is that you are encouraged to not be "on the plan" for one day every week. it seems like plans like the atkins diet just keep you away from foods that you want, and when you go off them you end up going right back to your old habits.

i plan on starting sunday morning. i've scoped out the "meal replacement shakes" and i have a box of the met-rx ones sitting at home. they actually don't taste all that bad.

I find the website hard to navigate... from what I understand, he reccomends an appropiate workout schedule with a good, balanced diet ... is that right? I am hoping I can find out a little more about the diet before I go buy the book to find out all of the info.

Two friends of ours (guy and wife) started in January. They have lost a good bit of weight. The plan does work, but the reason it works is because any good excercise/diet regimen will work _if you stick to it_, so this is just a variant on the theme of excercise and nutrition.

Our friends were both very active and had been thin and muscular in the past but over the years had slightly let themself go (they say), so the guy who had still been lifting weights, just wanted to drop 10-15 pounds and has done it.

You can get myoplex deluxe shakes reasonably cheap if you go to the right nutrition store. GNC is the most expensive I've found. Try Vitamin World or Ultimate Nutrition (if available) for good rates.

That's the gist of it yep. It's nothing funky like .4 grams of carbs or 6 pounds of lettuce before bed or anything. It's a fairly conventional excercise + nutrition approach.

basically, it involves:

six days a week of exercise - alternating weight lifting and aerobic exercise (running). max of ~45 minutes a session - one session a day.

six meals a day - limited amounts of protein, carbs, and vegetables

on the seventh day, you don't exercise, and you can eat whatever (and as much as) you want.

i got the book on half.com for ~$8

Aight cool. I think I might have to pick up the book.

The 6 meals a day thing is pretty difficult for me to do... I am on campus a few days a week for 8hours at a time😱

I did it back in 2000.
If you really, really follow what the book's telling you to do (3 meals + 3 supplement meals) then you should be fine.
I gained about 20 pounds of muscle (that was my goal) in about 3 months.

The only drawback is the supplements can be really, really expensive. Try to find a local supplement store instead of going to GNC because GNC is going to rape you.

Yup, that's what Skoorb said too! 🙂
