by the time this post actually becomes readable, i will be in the process of flashing my bios on my ga 7dxr. i will then proceed to take my case off and physically change my onboard raid to an onboard ultra ata controller. then, i will switch my 2 120gb seagate drives to that ata controller, and the 2 80gb seagate drives that were on the raid controller to my mobo's primary ide controller. i will then turn my pc back on and proceed to install windows xp professional, and i will be back to read all the comments in a few ;)

Eep. Sounds like a crapload of work at a really late hour too. You might as well unscrew everything and dust off the interior, then rescrew everything. Usually takes me an extra hour just for that.

*just finished installing windows. now i'm doing the windows updates*

p.s. - the only place I had my windows xp cd key was on one of my 120 gig hdd's (as a txt file) and i accidentally formatted the raid before i remembered that. that's why it wasn't till now that i was able to finish installing the OS.

p.p.s - it IS a legal version of windows.
