Alright, I have been workin on the perfect build for a bit and trying to keep the price around 500 bucks and lower... but this is what I got so far.

It's going to be used mainly for gaming (and some 3D Modeling ect), and I am getting VISTA from my gf (she has it, and I heard I can install it on mine as well..). I'll be playing games like; Warhammer Online, Age of Conan, Farcry 2, Half Life 2 Episode 3, Diablo 3, Starcraft 2. I'm a super hardcore gamer and will play every game coming out. And I am a graphics whore, so I want it looking good.

So here is my current decision (applicable to change!!!):
MOBO:
MSI P43 Neo3-F LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
$83.99 (w/ $10 MR)
GPU:
PALiT XAE/48500+T352 Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card
$169.99 (w/ $30 MR)
CPU:
Intel Pentium E5200 Wolfdale 2.5GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80571E5200
$84.49
HDD:
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
$84.99
RAM:
mushkin 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model 996557
$69.99 (w/ $20 MR)
POWER SUPPLY:
OCZ StealthXStream OCZ600SXS 600W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready Active PFC Power Supply
$79.99 (w/ 4GB USB and $30 MR)
MONITOR:
Soyo 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor 1000:1 contrast, 2ms response
$249.99
--------Total:
$573.00 (before monitor)
Total:
$823.00 (before shipping)
I'm definitely up for some changes. Also, do I really need the power supply? I already have a 500W power supply. And is there a cheaper alternative for the MOBO? And is that monitor worth the price?

Thank's a ton!
-Luke

You cannot install a legal and legit copy of Vista on your PC if it is already in use on another computer.

The links don't work because you tried to paste the https:// version of the links, presumably from your basket while logged in.

It looks pretty good to me. What kind of power supply do you have already?

Allied 500w SATA

Is there a cheaper MOBO if I don't want SLI? And where is there a good tutorial on how to OC your CPU?

This motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813128334
Gigabyte EP31-DS3L is a cheap and cheerful board that lacks a few of the special features and overclocking-oriented bells and whistles of more expensive boards but will do more than well for a standard setup and will probably overclock to a fair degree.

Never heard of that somewhat generic sounding PSU. It may be in your best interests to get something like the Corsair 550VX to be sure.

Here's a down & dirty tutorial...
Buy quality components for OCing or even running at default.
"Stability" is the name of the game!

I'm not a Corsair pimp, I would just think it unwise for me to recommend brands I'd never heard of, when reliability and build quality (and by extension brand reputation) are more important than pure wattage. I made the mistake of buying a no-name brand PSU myself two years ago and it wouldn't even power my graphics card enough to turn it on (despite being a 550V model) so I'd really only in good conscience recommend maybe half a dozen different manufacturers' power supplies. The corsair has good reviews and good anecdotal user feedback on sites such as newegg so I thought it more prudent to recommend a tried-and-tested solution.

Cool thanks a lot. One last thing! Could anyone suggest a cheaper HDD then the: Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive (http://www.newegg.com/Product/...?Item=N82E16822136218) ? I want the fast speed, but I don't need 640gb. Atleast 100-200gb. Just want to use it as my Main HDD (so my computer will load faster ect.) and I already have a 300gb HDD as my backup.

Thanks! ! ! !

I guess you could try this Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600AAJS 160GB ($41.99). I didn't necessarily need all that space of the 640GB, but hey why not? I'm sure you'll find a way to fill it up. But your choice

You can't get a faster drive without spending more money ;). Most 120/160/250/320GB drives are all much of a muchness, really.

You're confused about his recommendation. Read the posts in the order that they were written...

Roguestar: "

DarkNessBear: "Allied 500w"

Roguestar: "Never heard of that somewhat generic sounding PSU. It may be in your best interests to get something like the Corsair 550VX to be sure."

After reading that the PS in question was an Allied 500W, do you still stand behind your statement that...
"The PSU the guy chose is just fine"?

The difference will be unnoticeable to you, unless you spend a lot of time synthetically benchmarking your hard drives ;).
