I'm about to mass produce wedding CDs using Memorex CDrs made in Taiwan...

are there any record of these CDs not working in some players?

It sure is making a lot of noise in my Sony Burner. My Japan Fujis were much quieter, but it looks like it's burning at the same speed. Also, another 3rd of the CDs will be on Sonys, and the other 3rd on TDKs. (Random CDR deals I collected over the past month.)

So these CDRs brands okay to use for my Audio CDs? I've tested it with all my players and no problems so far.

I try to burn audio CDs at a lower than maximum speed like 16, 24 or 32x. Gives a better burn that will be more readable on borderline players (Yorx, Symphonic, Brand Z portables, etc.)
Also use the highest contrast media you can get. The Azo blue used on Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, etc. will read better than the greenish/yellowish sivery dye on the iffy players.
For testing, use the oldest model cheapest portable CD player you can find. If it'll play well on that, it'll probably play on anything.

Where's the :sun: ???

I have never had good luck with Memorex CDRs when doing audio CD's. I hear alot of noticeable "pops" in the music during playback in my portable and car CD players.

Then again, I always burned them at the higer speeds (32x+).

Personally, they are great for data CDs, as I haven't found a drive yet that can't read them. But for for audio, I stick to Fuji's or TDK.

Look in Hot Deals-Best Buy has 100 pack of Fujis for $25-$15 MIR = $10 final cost. Free shipping if order online, ebates.com applies also.

I personally have never had any problems with any brand of CD-R, even the crap ones. Of course my burner can only do 4x speed max. (It's a CD-RW/DVD combo drive) If you're gonna mass-produce drop below 32x to be safe.

Thus far, the only brand I ever had problems with was Pacific Digital - even at the lowest possible speed my burner would allow, it would crap out after ~100MB of data and give a write error. Otherwise, I've personally not had any problems with even the generic crap that Circuit City/Best Buy have on sale, and I burn at the media's max rated speed. That's just my experience though.🙂
