I'm about to give up...

Alright since i'ma bout ready to give up on my computer, because the Blue screens i get seem to have no bearing at all...

Like i just got a BSD that was about SP1 and i have SP2? i'm confused, i also get some USB related BSD, and a ton of graphic driver crashes and such.

I figure all of this is the cause of 2 things...my mobo and my Hard drive....

I have a raptor hard drive, and when i try to run a diagnostic on it it shows up like it had 2123 gbs of space of some junk like that...so i figure this thing is probably in trouble.

Does it sound like i shoudl try to replace this thing?

I have a kv8 max 3...and it hasn't exactly been easy to deal with, so i'm thinking about getting an SLI type mobo.

I am lookin gfor somebody to tell me what i can do to fix all the freezing and such.

I know it kinda just sounds like im just talking lol and not giving you guys anything to work with.

Basically i'm looking for some random ass solution to fix these, and if it sounds like my HD is shot tell me. Ill look around to see if i can RMA it, but i doubt i can anymore...which sucks!

Anyway if i go the HD route i think ill skip the raptor this time around, i never really saw it enhancing my game playing at all lol. That was kinda one of my splurges on this computer and the gains were minimal at best.

But yeah, any final thoughts on what i should do. I've tried sooo many things already, and i check on google to see the error messages it gives me and they seem almost senseless. But yeah thx for the time, and may your computers be merry.

You mean reformatting? No i haven't tried it, and it's such a pain with what i have gone through w/ this motherboard and hard drive that i doubt it would really fix the problems i'm having.

Honestl i should probably have already RMA'd my Mobo, the chipset fan stopped spinning afterall.

I am just now seeing about my harddrive being RMA'd too since it was still under warranty.

yes, I have this board also the nb chipfan is a crappy sleeve fan which I replaced for 10.00 with a quality ball bearing fan.

Other then that the board has been pretty stable and I suspect your problem is related to either drivers, bad memory or overclocking. really hard to say since you don't give much info but thats all I run is abit boards and no major problems here.
Maybe it is time to wipe and start over.

*sighs* bleh i guess that's the only thing left to do...Well thanks for finally saying it, i've been putting this off too long...as a game who's computer freezes every like 3 minutes this has been intensely frustrating...i'm hoping this will do the trick, or else i gotta rma some stuff..anyway....Yeah..this will be a pain in the ass...lol bye man. and thx for the help!

Okay i reformatted and its still freezing..sometimes even when windows is still booting up...seems like my hard drive is fried, but i was trying to format my other hard drive, and it froze as well... Anybody know what could be causing the freezing.

Are both of my hard drives bad now?

Is this a new build?

If so, are HDDs being picked up correctly in BIOS (jumper problem maybe?)

What PSU? (not enough juice causing HDD corruption?)

Can it pass Memtest86 overnight with no errors?

Usually when I do a new build I'll test the HW before bothering with the install of the OS etc. I assemble the mobo, cpu (+HS&F), ram a vid card, maybe the HDD. Check the BIOS to make sure is showing up correctly. Then plug in a floppy (or CD) and let memtest run overnight. No need to install if the ram ain't working right 😉

There is no mention of conducting a diagnostic test on the hard drive with the resulting error code. It would be good to run that diagnostic test and see if any errors occur so you have a better idea of the drive's condition.

Fern's advice above is also good.
