My lord... My first 2 years up in gainesville were crazy, i was going out 5/7 nights a week....

The courtyards always had big parties....

Granted, most of that stopped once i got into my real classes and actually had to start studying :)

I wouldn't know. I skipped a few years in terms of my responsibility level and my course level, so I missed out on those free two middle years. *shrug*

Get a life yourself that doesn't impress one person here.

If you don't have a desire to go then don't but the social aspect of college is also a learning experience. More important than the books? not even close.

I wish I went to the liabrary more and less keggers...

yeah, I can't say I haven't been to parties, but there is also social life outide of them, you just have to find the right group of people to hang out with.

seriously though... if i wanted to go to a party.. i could. I get invited to come to this and that...all kinds of different events... there's so much how can there be nothing to do??
but i refuse all of them. I'm just not into it these days... maybe it's because i'm worried about my grades after messing up during my freshman year.

oh sh!t... nevermind, now that i think about it, i DID go to a oollege party HAHA
it was during the first couple weeks... maybe the first weekend. That's the only one though.

Id say social aspect is at least as important as books, it shapes you as a person and teaches you the inter-personal skills you'll need to get to the top in life. As well being a lot of fun.

agreed.

being exposed to diverse ideas and perspectives is crucial in the ideological formative years. Of course keggers may or may not be the best form of socializing.

Richdog I see what you mean but being a college dropout and knowing many others you don't need to be in college to go to college parties :( so the Books are still more important. You don't need a mind to party. Yes you can learn to socialize but you don't need college to socialize. Remember a big part of the population still does not go to college and they still know how to party. Yes some of them have hard lives but some are also very successful business owners that are very well socially adjusted.

So Books still are more important. I will say a guy with a 175 IQ will lose to a guy with a 140 IQ (in some jobs) that is better socially just for the fact that he will be a better team player and do much better in an interview. I do great in interviews but if they find someone close to me with a degree I get the canned response thanks for coming and wasting our time letter. Now when I run my own business on the side and was in a hiring position in another company experience and not school came first and a great personality and drive make up for allot.
I still wish I had a degree just to say I have one but being any smarter just having a sheepskin doesn't make me smarter but to allot of people they will look at you as if you are... It is the way the world works...

parties vary. the best parties to go to are those with live bands. My best party experiences were at the coop Cloyne in Berkeley. Particularly when they had punk bands. Co-ops generally have cooler, more laid back people than frats and I'd recommend a few co-op parties. Also, you'll experience more things outside of alcohol and sex too...

If you don't have sufficient interpersonal skills by the time you get to college, you're not going to get invited to any parties anyway. The only thing that college parties teach you is how to hold your alcohol, and most of the time they fail at even that. Just because you're not a partier doesn't mean that you're not social, the party aspect of college is really of no importance. The whole idea of some specific "college experience" is bullcrap. College is however you make it and as long as you're satisfied with things, you shouldn't worry.
