I'm a SERIOUS WUSS

my son had a splinter in his finger. i was doing the typical needle thing, but my eyes aren't what they used to be for things that close.

anyway, last night i was taking out skin layer by layer. but i couldn't see well. anyway, i got part of the splinter and he started saying it hurt too much. so i told him he'd just have to wait till his mother came back.

tonite he came to me again and asked me to take it out. fortunately the work i'd done the night before made it easier for me and tonite i got it out.

god i'm a wuss. i can't handle seeing him in pain. so i can't remove the source of the pain.

oh well. i need to go see a doctor and get some reading glasses.

ya, if it had been a splinter in my finger, i would have just dug it out with my leatherman. but on my son, i took the sharpest needle and was trying to be very very careful. damn my eyes tho. i have a hard time with close stuff and my depth perception was really sucking. 🙁

oh well, guess i'm turning old and wussy at the same time.

You should have sucker punched the little whiner and then dug the splinter out with a butcher knife. :Q Dads have to be tuff and you just failed the first test. You may turn your dad card in at the front desk. :brokenheart:

I always just left splinters in... hurts a lot more to stick a needle in my finger than to just leave it.

If you plan on becoming a tree in the distant future, this won't be a problem.
