I type this with new blisters/calluses forming on my finger tips and a new found respect for rock musicians, guitarists in particular.

My friend has had this game for some time and he actually got his gf hooked on it, which I thought odd as she seemed a sensible girl. See, I thought it was a bit much for adults to be playing this game.

That was, until last night. Granted I was "altered", something I don't do anymore. Suddenly I saw that controller sitting there and had the urge to try it.

We put up the Wii and fired up the PS2.

Now, the first song I played was terrible, I had no concept of how the game worked, but I kept at it. Next thing I know I'm hitting %66 of the notes, then %77, then %88 and so on with each new song. By the nights end I was hitting high 90's and grooving like a motherfvcker.

That game is seriously addictive, and this is from a former gamer who felt he's "grown out" of that stuff.

I encourage all to try this game, you'll love it.

I've been wanting to play it ever since I found out Trogdoor was a track available for play.

Guitar Hero is sorta like DDR for non-asians.

ha ha, yeah, DDR is something I know you'll never catch me playing.

I was really impressed by the selection of songs too. Higher Ground, War Pigs....even some Bucket Head

I liked Guitar Hero better. Trogdor is the only song I wanted to play and you have to unlock it.

The co-op mode in 2 was more fun. In one you took turns playing sections of the song. In two you both play all the way through.

Please don't ever compare Guitar Hero to playing the guitar again

Yeah, I have a confession to make. I originally flamed everyone that I knew that played the GH series. (Sorry, Dedpuhl) Now, I'm on my way to my cousins house to workout and play GH2.

It wasn't a direct comparison. I guess I should have stated that rock bands, guitarists specifically, look like it's no effort at all to play. Playing this game made me realize the hand eye coordination that's involved in doing it and the fact that they do it full bore in concert for a few hours. It would wear you out more than I originally thought it would.

Seriously man, quit reading into my crap so much.

My friend said it was IIRC, but again, I don't remember "chunks" of last night.

Also, I found I don't play that game as well sober. Guess I'm more in touch with my "groove side" the other way ;)

It is coming out in the spring for the 360.

I tried a demo unit and I quickly realized that this is a game that you need to learn how to play in the privacy of your own home and not in a crowded store with people staring at you as you suck mightily.

I bought it opening day but I've only been able to put 2 hours into it...got through 3 sets of expert songs. In 2 weeks I'll be able to sit down and get through it.
