I'm a RAM n00b

Okay I know a decent amount about computer, and 3d modeling and what not, but I have no idea about ram. I'd like to know if http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant...=PROD&Store_Code=M&Product_Code=140421 that is a good type of ram to buy? I know I have pc4200 in there now. I'm looking to upgrade. At that price for 1 Gb, I would get 2! Corsair = good RAM as far as I'm concerned and I have never had any problems with it...GO FOR IT!

Alright thanks alot, also I have a question, can you use any pc# w/ any ram slot ? or since I have pc4200 on my motherboard is my motherboard only compadable wiht pc4200? Also I've seen pc2-4200 is there any difference ? Thanks.

Corsair is a good brand but the latency of that module is 4 which is bad.
Get memory with a minimum latency of of 3.

Yes, DDR2 RAM sucks. Do you have any DDR slots or just DDR2?

Naw I got 2 ddr2 slots and 2 ddr slots. I was planing on putting 2 gigs of that corsair memory in, and I read somewhere that hte latence from 3-4 isn't really that noticeable.

4 is a very typical latency for DDR2.

I would. Shoot, I've seen 512Mb memory for more money than that. As far as DDR/DDR2...sorry, but I don't have a clue. Just looking at the price for 1 Gb.
