I noticed this I'm a PC ad in FarCry 2 mp. I thought it was pretty pointless since everyone playing FC2 mp is probably a loyal PC gamer. I'm not against in game ads like this though. Has anyone seen these ads in other games?

It would be ok if it didn't look so out of place. That game shouldn't have stuff that looks like commercial ads. A Che-Guevara-esque portrait of Gates would actually be appropriate in such a setting.

Well I have a Macbook Pro and I play in Bootcamp from time to time (when not gaming in OS X) so perhaps the ad would hit that small demographic.

That is funny though - seems like its totally out of place for the environment of the game. By the way how is the multiplayer? Is this game worth getting?

I have read about this before, we are being spammed in a way.

I honestly don't care a whole lot about in-game advertising as long as it fits in the game. But I can see how others might be angry about it though.

It's great if your winning frustrating if you're not because your team is likely pretty crappy....

The gameplay is pretty fun once you get going. The server browser and waiting and the occasional bugs are the worst part.

But from what I've said, you could pretty much describe any number of pc games.

I'm not too bothered by in-game advertising but it would be nice if they dropped the price of the game to compensate.

The ads don't get in the way at all..... it's very well done and not noticeable. You pay for the developers effort to create/publish the game etc.....

The DRM does help to protect their "rights." I had no intention of ever pirating and am glad I can play online, because frankly the SP was boring. Anyways, DRM hasn't caused me any issues. The game was only like $35 shipped at gogamer, so I think it was well worth it.

Exactly. I wouldn't mind in-game advertising one bit if it meant I could buy a $50 game for $20.

Hm. Odd add placement at first glance, then I remembered that FC2 is multiplatform. It's probably targeted primarily at the console player, and it just wasn't worth getting a seperate ad set for the PC.
