Blue eyes have their hue because of a single genetic mutation that occurred fewer than 10,000 years ago in one individual and swept rapidly through the European population, according to a study published in the journal Human Genetics in January.

I thought we already knew how blue eyes came about... *shrugs*

Why would you say that?

Methodology created through the research can spread to other fields. Bigger discoveries could be made through this type of work, but you'd never know unless you do it. Etc...

If blue eyes came from one individual 10,000 years ago, there are a lot of incest in the world.

It's too bad our resident furry doesn't have a sister.

The news isn't that blue eyes are a result of mutation, but that it appears to be a result of a single mutation.

I have strange blue eyes.
They are blue with small traces of greenish to them - kind of like a cyan but still mostly blew when viewed from afar.
While they never look light baby blue like albinos have, my eyes can almost vary from steel blue, to cyan, to a blue/gray, etc. It all varies based on my clothing strangely. My sister is that way too: clothing for some reason changes the exact color or intensity of our eye color.

You think so? I would think people would be afraid of such a difference.

Or they made him out to be a god, which led to the aforementioned procreation like crazy.

This.

Except it's blue and green. Mine change depending on what I'm wearing, but also my mood and if I'm tired or not all seem to affect what color they look.

My gf has a similar thing, but it's more in her pictures they look blue but IRL green.
