It seems that I keep on having bad luck with insects around here :(

So anyway, the weather has been really hot the past three days, hitting 90 during those days and cooling off to about 70 which is about 15-20 degrees higher than normal for this time of the year on either side. I for one love the hot weather, the great sun and everything..but I just HATE the mosquitos that come with it.

Over the past three days I've gotten three bites on my left arm, one on my forehead, one on my left cheek, another one a few inches from it, and one on my right EAR, which is really disgusting. I also have one my right arm, and when I was showering tonight I found that it somehow got onto my chest too, a little under my neck. There's probably more that I've yet to discover too :( It's been spread out over the last three days, and it either happens when I'm outside during the late hours, or when I'm sleeping. Just yesterday I woke up in the middle of the night and was @$%@$ ITCHING LIKE CRAZY on my left arm AND right arm. It was like a horrible nightmare with the insane itchy feeling I was getting. I have no idea what happened after that, and how I was able to go back to sleep, but next thing I knew, I woke up this morning and discovered three more red spots on my body.

I have no idea where these mosquitos come from, as I keep my window open just a crack, and I have a protective screen door thingie behind it. And at night, I may spot one, sometimes two flying around in my room, but they're usually dead before then. I even try to darken my entire room and just leave my monitor on hoping to attract anymore that may come..doesn't work apparently :(

I've never experienced so many mosquito bites in such a short period since I went to Houston last summer, where it was just as bad, but it was spread all over my entire body down to my legs. However the people I was staying with had some good mosquito remedies, both to kill the itching and rashing, and to prevent it from occuring. I however, being that I'm in California, have nothing of the such..

Oh well, the weather seems to be cooling down, and hopefully the mosquitos will find another place to hang out, or find someone else to bother. Why for they must bother me :(

Me too. I do not like mesquitos. Little bastards. I think I may be allergic to mesquito bites. Sometimes the bite area gets red from me itching it....

What makes you think they're not female mosquitoes? Perhaps they're just playing hard to get..

siquitoes bother only certain people... those that let the bugs annoy them. I don't allow bug's to bother me, and never loose any sleep over it...

If you allow your self to be bothered, it is irritating. i would expect you to understand that... goldenbear........

In basic training, I used to suck on the end of an unlit match. The little bit of sulphur won't hurt you, and it seemed to work very well at keeping the buggers off. I have no scientific proof, but it worked for me.

is it true that if a mosquitoe where to bite you after you workout, the lactic acid in your blood would kill it?

Only the male mosquitos seem to take interest in me. They don't bite, just kinda rub their wings against my skin.

They only annoy me because they bite me, hence my post.

You should get one of those ultrosonic bracelets to repel mosquitoes. They are pretty cheap and they really work. There are also ones that can sit on a nearby table, etc. to keep them away.
