I'm a guy and I don't enjoy sports in general. I enjoy playing a few things like tennis or golf, but sports just aren't interesting for me.

I don't like watching.. I like playing. Those who can, play. Those who can't, watch. That's why the only sports I like to watch is fighting (ie: boxing, MMA, etc).

i really don't like sports at all. If i were to play anything, it would be with friends, not in a league capacity or anything like that. i have 0% interest in watching sports.

everyone at work is into some sport and most people i know are into one or another.
people are always talking about it, but the worst is if they ask you about it. makes me feel odd, like i'm not normal or something.

Yes, yes, plenty of other people feel like you. Also like you, they can't stop telling people about it.

Just like all the people who can't wait to tell you about how much ass their team is kicking or how what's-his-nuts got an injury that's going to tank their fantasy football team
Get a grip.

The main difference being people talk about sports with other people who like sports. People who like to share how cool they are because they don't follow sports tend to tell anyone who (unfortunately) has to listen.

I with you on NFL and most other professional series sports. My exception is soccer... or futball to the rest of the world. To me, soccer is more interesting to watch.

I like hearing how the college I graduated from did... but I don't care to sit and watch the game... I'm in SEC country so going to a C-USA school shows how much I care about sports.

I've never met a random person who, unprovoked, will tell you about their love of sports. But if you're at a sporting event or a sports bar, and expect not to hear people actually talk about sports, you might be stupid (not you, just in general).

Correct. I've never talked to, or spoken to someone about football or fantasy football who didn't spark the conversation. I've never met anyone who has loved it so much they have to tell everyone about it.

Shall I start threads about all the things that don't interest me? Just so i can tell people I'm not interested? And then not discuss it because it's not interesting to me? I've got a long list and it's starts with "what the hell nakedfrog thinks".

Here in Texas, it is a requirement that conversations start about the Cowboys.

Friend: Hey man
Me: Sup bro?
Friend: Did you watch the cowboys last night?
Me: No
Friend: Oh, well man T.O. was rockin'!
Friend: He had this ....

and it goes on from there.

Well then you need to make other friends or realize that sports/politics/news are pretty fuckin common forms of small talk. What would you rather have them talk about? Smalltalk is all the same shit anyway.

Me personally, unless I'm asked a direct question or involved in a conversation about sports, I don't let my die-hardedness show through.
