I'm writing on the card for a present and I'm not sure if she has one L or LL. I looked on the present she gave me and her name was scribled so I can't tell. Is this a toss up or do I write really messy so she can't tell. The percentage play is LL right?

I would go with two L's.

I'm sure that this doesn't help, but I do know a Michele.

My wife spells it Michele. I have dated one who spells it Michelle. And one of our football board members spells it Mishelle.

Go Figure.
 
you have to ask, it can be either

most females in america would spell it Michelle
but my sister speels it Michele

i would guess it is about 80% Michelle to 20% Michele in USA
 
How old? If she's under 20 years old, it could also be Mishell, Myshell, Mysheil, etc.
