Im a cheap: soft modded quadro?

right, does anyone know of a way to get a soft modded quadro form a pci-e card?
i have a second-hand copy of gelato and i am also making a 3d movie, so i need a new graphiocs card.
real quadros are to expensive, so does nayone know how to make a quadro 4400 or 4500?

You could get the quadro 3450, same features as the 4500 only cheaper.

I run my 3D max 5.0 on my X850xpe and it works fine but then again I dont make stuff that has more then 100 000 polys.

umm i don't think you will get your 6600GT PCI-E to Quadro and that will not work will gelato.

The PCi-E 6800GT and Ultra can have quadro caps unlocked (most cases) but still be named 6800 GT or Ultra do to the PCI-AGP bridge.

The 6600 series have a 30/100 chance maybe even less. The newer nvidia chips have the same protection as the 7800 series and they do not work with rivatuner nvstrap.


If you want to move to ATI then you can get some stuff to work with a little bit older drivers.

The QuadroFX 3400 is equ of a 6800NU PCI-E
The QuadroFX 3450 is = to 6800GT PCI-E
The QuadroFX 4400 is = to 6800Ultra PCI-E
The QuadroFX 4500 is = to 7800GTX PCI-E

Also the FireGL V7100 is = to X800XT PCI-E

My suggestion is to either buy a 6800GT or 6800Ultra to convert to a quadro fx 4400 using rivatuner (same way with agp card) but will still show geforce name, but you can use specview to make sure it is doing its job.

An why do you want to use gelato, just render your movie overnight.

oh no, i will be buying a new 800 or 7800 pci-e card to go with my current system in the sig for my movie.
how can you unlock proness stuff in 7800's?
so yeah, how do you get a 6800 gt/ultra to quadro?
anmd does gelato only run on quadros or not?
cos if i get a quadro with a gefoirce name, will it run or not?

- so the 7800's can not be modded to quadro
- 6800's are moddable 90% of the time with rivatuner

I never used gelato, i heard it only works on quadros. again why do you want to use it?
