I'm 34 years old and I still have a full head of hair. Actually I need to go visit Patrick my hair stylist because I desperately need a hair cut. Luckily this trait mostly comes from my fathers side. At 60 yrs old he still has a full head of hair and his brothers are the same. Male pattern baldness isn't an issue.

I have a buddy that went bald in his early twenties. That has to suck.

So it doesn't run in the family? Sounds safe. My brother is in his early 20s, and it thinning, but not bald.

I'm 34 too and not bald either.

My dad lost his hair but people say you inherit your hair from your mom's dad.

Somehow, I don't believe that can be true because my dad's older brother had a full head of hair while my dad didn't. They both had the same mom too. :)

I think I am ok for now.

you inherit baldness from your mothers father. So if he didn't go bald, then your safe.

Can't be 100% true. Like I said my dad was bald his older brother had a full head of hair.

Is this true though? Is it a proven fact, because there are a lot of so called hair facts that people think are true. Here is one...

1) Prolonged hat use causes baldness.

This is FALSE! The people that wear baseball caps for prolonged periods do so because their going bald. The hat or cap hides thier baldness.

At 26 my hair is starting to recede ever so slightly at the temples. What I'm losing there I'm gaining on my body, especially my back, at an alarming rate. When it starts growing in my ears I'll go buy a cane and dentures :p

i am one of the unlucky ones. i started going bald at 15.

I'm 30 now and have the captain picard hair cut. I keep wanting to shave it all off but my wife does not want me to.

Exactly dog. I should have brought up the fact that my brother at the age of 33 is partly bald. He still has some hair but you can definitely tell he's losing hair. Thank god I'm the opposite. I still grow hair and I need haircuts every 6 weeks.

not true. a common myth though.

baldness, like most traits, is multifactorial. to say if your mother's father is not bald, then you will not be, is erroneous.

You're probably fairly safe, though it's hard to be sure of anything. When I was a teenager, I already had a high hairline, pronounced widow's peak, and a thinning area on the top. Now that I'm in my 40's, I have a high hairline, pronounced widow's peak, and a thinning area on the top. My brother three years younger has a fuller, thicker head of hair than I ever had and it doesn't seem to be changing, but my brother five years younger went nearly bald over the span of a few years quite some time ago.

I'm not going bald (I'm 35) but my brother is (he's 39). But I'm single with no kids, and he has a wife and 3 kids.

Stress ==> Baldness ?

I wish this was true, since my grandpa has all his hair, & it's still reddish, not a bit of gray or white :)

I'm with ya. :(

I'm too damn skinny to shave my head though, I'm afraid I would look like a chemo patient. I still have a decent amount of hair up there, but when my hair gets wet all you see is scalp. :(:(:(:(:(
