Illustrator help needed! (making fill transparent while working with mesh?)

I have to do a reproduction of a picture for my class, and it's really hard to line up where the mesh should be while the fill is on with the mesh, but I can't find a way to make the mesh transparent while I work with it? How do I do this?

Never mind. I managed to get drunk and figure out the problem. Hmm....
