I was wondering if anyone had any really good information on Illinois renters laws. My lease is expiring and they've been showing my apartment alot lately, which is fine. Today I got a message saying that they're also showing it tomorrow at 3:30 which really irritates me since its the weekend. From what I've found it looks like illinois law is really vague and just says something about "adequate notice" but I was hoping someone knew of something that applied to week days only like some other states have. Any help on its appreciated!

I don't know about Illinois, but in CA you don't have to let them into your place.........period. They can't force you to let them show it until you're moved out. It's your place, not theirs.

it's typically like 24 hours, without regard to which day of the week, or even which time of day.

i was real pissed when my guys were doing construction on the other side of my wall on 8:30 saturday morning, but couldn't really figure out any recourse.

on the sun times web page under their renting faq, they say,

Chicago law requires that landlords give tenants 48-hour notice before entry, except in cases of emergency. There are money damages equal at least to one month's rent for violating this ordinance.

Sadly I'm about as far from chicago and still in the state as one can be and I don't think that applies here. Its quite irritating though :D
