In an escalation of protest tactics, five immigrants dressed in caps and gowns held a sit-in on Monday at the Tucson offices of Senator John McCain, calling on him to sponsor legislation to open a path to legal status for young illegal immigrants.

The offices of Senator John McCain, Republican of Arizona, in Tucson were the scene of a demonstration Monday by students favoring legislation that would give some illegal immigrants an opportunity to gain conditional permanent legal residency.

Four students held a sit-in Monday in the Tucson office of Senator John McCain. They were, from left, Tania Unzueta, Lizbeth Mateo and Yahaira Carrillo, of Mexico, and Mohammad Abdollahi of Iran. Raúl Alcaraz, a legal resident from Mexico, joined.

Four of the protesters, including three who are in the country illegally, were arrested Monday evening on misdemeanor trespassing charges. The three were expected to face deportation proceedings.

My thoughts: Deport them. Then check their relative's records and if they are also illegals, deport them as well.

1) The three are already expected to face deportation proceedings.
2) How do you plan to check records for people you believe may be illegal?

We should do this at ALL illegal immigrant/immigration reform marches and protests. It's a problem that would fix itself. Doesn't Mexico have some kind of law that if you aren't a natural born citizen you cannot protest or speak out against the government?

I like when the police call up criminals posing and people running a contest and tell them to come to a certain location to collect their prize. When they go behind the curtain to collect their prize they get pounced on by the cops. These rallies sound like a good place to wrangle up some easy illegals to send packing. The cops should organize a few "rallies" of their own :)

That's quite an escalation of protest tactics, from four to five people.

I find it hilarious that people who are here illegally have the audacity to protest and act like they should actually have a say on immigration laws. That's a little like giving the fox the key to the hen house.

That just made my morning.

The funny thing is they dressed in caps and gowns in some effort to look educated but reality paints a different picture.

You know how much illegals truly fear the likelihood of deportation when they are brave enough to just protest in the open like this.

Really makes it too easy when law-breakers call public attention to themselves.

I think at the big rallies, they should cite every violation the cops see i.e. spitting on the sidewalk, littering, jay-walking, obstructing traffic, etc.. Then they all have to show up in court where they will have to present ID. If they don't show up, a warrant will eventually be issued. Those that are illegal can be escorted out of the country.

We should use the immigration laws of Mexico.

Wasnt the president of Mexico mouthing off how a citizen could detain a suspected illegal immigrant in Mexico????

Then All of your property would be confiscated, and you would be placed in prison till you could be deported. Assuming your country would take you back.

ah, trying to play the sympathy card, I see. "Oh, how dare those big bad policy officers and those horrible Arizona politicians deport those sweet children who bettered themselves in this country. Isn't that what America is about?" I hope they fasttrack their asses back to their home countries.

Very much so and in 2000 Mexico passed a law which mandated all federal, local and municipal police cooperate with Mexican federal immigration agents.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/may/03/mexicos-illegals-laws-tougher-than-arizonas/

But the legislation, signed April 23 by Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, is similar to Reglamento de la Ley General de Poblacion — the General Law on Population enacted in Mexico in April 2000, which mandates that federal, local and municipal police cooperate with federal immigration authorities in that country in the arrests of illegal immigrants.

Under the Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony, punishable by up to two years in prison. Immigrants who are deported and attempt to re-enter can be imprisoned for 10 years. Visa violators can be sentenced to six-year terms. Mexicans who help illegal immigrants are considered criminals.

The law also says Mexico can deport foreigners who are deemed detrimental to "economic or national interests," violate Mexican law, are not "physically or mentally healthy" or lack the "necessary funds for their sustenance" and for their dependents.

Yet Arizona and the US are evil racists according to Mexico's president and the loony left in this nation.

Hey, thanks for making it easy to find you illegals.

Enjoy the free food in prison, and the free ride back to where you belong.
