...in the side panel of my case so that a 120mm blows straight in on the CPU and Northbridge of my 1.4 tbird in the IWILL KK299 plus.

Think that will improve the overclock of the chip and/or lower that 85F temp ambient in the case under a load ?

Nah, it's not original, but it's my first case mod.

That will definitely improve your case temps, unless your room temp is 85. Good luck.

Man! 85 Celcius?!!!! Or faranhiet (however that's spelt  )??

You Americans have to change your degrees to celcius people. Zero C means that sh!t freezes. It makes so much sense :)

0C only means that water freezes. To be accurate, water can exist in either the fluid or solid state at 0C. What was the topic, anyway?

/me slaps forehead... doh!
Sorry, it does clearly say f doesn't it?

Are you trying to start a flame war with me over the freezing temperature of water? I'm sure that there would be no misunderstandings of my meaning there.

It worked, it dropped all loaded case temps down to 71F in a room temp of about 67F. Wind Tunnel complete.

Also, getting a better HSF resulted in a whopping 35F drop in CPU temp. It ran loaded up to 55C/140F with the first HSF. The new one takes her down to 42C / 105F. I can't believe the differnce.

In honesty, I always thought you crackheads were just flapping gums about "getting the right HSF."

Now, my overclock is more stable... and rapidly getting bigger.

You, and all of your retentive, detail oriented knowledge is now validated. Thanks. :)

Cool, good to hear success stories :) What hsf do you have? What are you overclocking and to what?

It's just a 1 .4 TBird. Been running the FSB at 143 for 1.5 OC since the side fan was added. Hope to graduallyy push it on up a bit farther.

The HSF name...I don't know, it looks more tradional, not an orb style. Base is copper with super thin copper filaments. Except for the black fan, it looks golden. Spins at about 7300 rpm.

Actually, ChrisADuffy, if there is more air blown in than air exhausted out, then dust intake will be greatly reduced, assuming there is a filter in front of all the intake fans.

Mr Helpful, I agree with that. I personally hate filters. I like lots of air flow and to clean the inside the old fashioned way.
