A restaurant owner has apologised after diners had their very own F word experience - without Gordon Ramsay.

Ten friends found the abusive and sexually-explicit message on their bill at Joe Delucci's Italian restaurant in Bird Street, Lichfield, Staffordshire.

Diner Clare Watkin said she thought it was written after they complained about poor service.

The party from Walsall had gone to the restaurant on Friday. Owner Nigel Langsdon has begun an investigation.

Ms Watkin said: "I couldn't believe it. The bill read 'fish cakes', which one of us had for a starter, and it was written right above it - absolutely disgusting language.

"We actually booked the table for 8 o' clock in the evening, by the time they had taken our order it was quarter to nine and we didn't actually receive our food until quarter past 10."

She added: "I'd like a written apology from the restaurant and I'd also like some compensation.

"I think that the way that we've been spoken to is absolutely outrageous."

TV chef Gordon Ramsay's foul-mouthed diatribes on his Channel 4 show The F Word have given viewers an insight into the type of language often used in the restaurant kitchen.

Joe Delucci's owner Mr Langsdon said the message had been meant to be seen only by kitchen staff and he did not know how it ended up as an item on the receipt.

He said: "That shouldn't come out on the bill, so we've got to find out what's gone wrong there.

"But we have apologised unreservedly to the girls concerned and said that they're very welcome to come back and have a free meal and we'd like them to."

He has also offered to donate the bill for their meal to charity.

The cost of the meal came to £284.68, including a 10% service charge.

Well, at least the "Suck My **** ****face" was free.

I wouldn't be complaining too much. They just got a £284.68 meal for free.

I'm confused. They didn't order "suck my d*** f***face" as an appetizer? Or did they not get it until the meal arrived, because I hate that too. Either way, it was obviously comped by the restaurant, so they shouldn't complain.

Makes you wonder why that is even an item in their computer? Is it a flag to the cooks to make the meal special? Maybe with a little 'fumunda cheese' and 'garlic salt?'

I bet their computer system has some way a waiter can key in a message to the cooks but it doesn't appear on the bill, and the waiter flubbed it. So when Mrs. Fussypants says she wants her steak medium on the left side but rare on the right side, they can get that message to the cook without having to make a personal visit to the kitchen.

They were right to complain, but the restaurant took appropriate action/compensation. I don't see why they're asking for more. Greedy little stuck up assholes.

hahaha thats hilarious. i can say without a doubt that the waitress and one of the kitchen staff were probably just fucking around, we do it all the time at our resturaunt...but someone effed up and it came through. On our machines, special instructions are not printed on the final customer receipt. When orders are entered, they go directly from the floor to the kitchen, but the waitress has to print out a seperate check for the customer that doesn't allow any custom input.

Compensation for what? Reading a naughty word? What, now he owes you 20 compliments?

I remember my college days spent working in the kitchen at Bennigan's, fun stuff like that happened all the time.

How the fuck is not being a greedy sack of shit being a "sheep"?

If a business treats me poorly, I will complain to the manager and never come back if the problem isn't resolved. Appropriate resolutions are firing the employee responsible if it was intentional, or apologizing if it was unintentional and ensuring that it doesn't happen again.

I would only demand compensation if I experienced some actual damages, and reading some naughty words certainly doesn't qualify.

I don't get it. In one post you would demand compensation, but in another you would never go back.

Personally I wouldn't care. its just words and probably the fault of a single employee, not the business. I would just be like, wtf is this. Then stop caring.

the night of the incident the meal should be comped, not the whole thing. No way would i pay full price when the staff of the house insults me and my guest. then i would never go back.
