Awesome race, nice to have a possible trip crown winning situation, but wow running down probably the best current three year old twice like that is impressive.

This keeps happening and they keep failing at the third leg of the crown. Maybe we will finally see a Trip winner in our lifetime.

Good thing I didn't put money on Bodimeister.

Maybe I will for the Belmont. He's due for a win.

He will run out of gas at 1 1/2 miles me thinks. Union Rags and Dullahan who are also closers will be there as well.

Bodimeister learned his lesson from the kentucky derby of shooting his wad early and slowed down his pace by 2sec in the Preakness.
but still wasnt good enuf.

We've had a few others over the last 10 yrs that won the first 2 then failed at the Belmont, got out in front but got picked by closers and wind up losing. (War emblem,'02, Funny Cide,'03, Smarty Jones, '04)What's exciting about this is "I'll have another" is the definitive description of a closer and hopefully will fare well at Belmont. His biggest challenge IMO is that he will up against good competition that is well rested..

For another great race, here is the last contender (Smarty Jones) running the Belmont, enjoy!..http://www.belmontstakes.com/multimedia/history/2009/4/26/2004-belmont-stakes/

Grr... Don't remind me of that one. I went to the Belmont to see that one, and had money on the race :(

Awesome race. I'd like to see the finishing fractions but could be triple crown winner. Apparently the horse sleeps a lot which could have him ready in 3 weeks.

i wonder why?
(article doesnt say)

The lenghth of the Belmont is a mile and a half. Bodemeister is a speed horse. He took his shots, and came up short. There are other big races with million dollar purses the horse would be better suited for such as The Haskell or the Travers. And the rest will do him good.

Do a youtube for the Arkansas Derby and Bodemeister if you want to see the best race he ran this year. The derby and preakness were good, but the Arkansas Derby was insane.

Insane is an understatement on that performance.

But you're spot on, belmont is not his race.
