I'm going to be in SF for work late next month for about a week. Since I've never been in SF or anywhere else in the west coast, I was wondering if there are any locals here who have some ideas regarding what will be worth my while in my spare time, in terms of sight seeing, dining, shopping etc. Also, are gadgets cheaper there than south FL, because if so I might re-equip, maybe get a new laptop and stuff.
Any input is welcome.. Thanks

LOL at the cheaper gadgets. Anyway, there's downtown, Metreon, Golden Gate Park, Fisherman's Wharf. The new mall in downtown is pretty nice, I still haven't gone through the whole building yet. As for dining go to Chinatown I guess; huge list of restaurants to choose from.

Copy that. (though I am somewhat disappointed I always had the impression west coast is a little bit more hi-tech friendly)

Regarding the places to see, are there any priorities or all are just as amazing.. ;)

Fisherman's Wharf, Golden Gate Park.

Any particular cuisine you're interested in?

Downtown/Metreon - if you want to experience the modern feel (lots of shopping/movies)
Golden Gate Park - if you enjoy relaxing and exploring (has museums and a kickass flower garden)
Fisherman's Wharf - overrated IMO, but every tourist should still visit it.

Hmm, you can check out this site and get a better idea of the restaurants in the area. A couple restaurants I've been to that I'd personally recommend are Scala's (the best crabcakes I've ever had), The Slanted Door (great atmosphere, easy to meet people if you dine in the lounge area; if you're into that), Ton Kiang (go for dim sum!), Firefly (get the fried chicken if it's on their menu), Tsunami (sushi restaurant with a great atmosphere as well). Of course, it's sometimes good to just walk down a street and go someplace that looks good.
