....the mudslinging gets so ugly in the last 2 weeks or so

On the other hand, this is when you get to see the few commercials that the little guys can afford, and some of them are pretty damn funny! Not all of them are supposed to be funny, though :p

Word. The interesting thing is how all the commercials seem to seem the same after awhile. All the Democratic canidiates seem bash the Republician canidates for their positions on abortion and gun control, and all the the Republician canidates bash the Democratic canidiates for raising taxes and wasting money on unneeded government services.

Of course, both sides usually bash each other for corporate corruption, and "being in the pockets of big business". Amusingly, BOTH sides are usually right on this issue, as all of these attack ads are mostly being paid for with big corporate campaign contributions :(

I can do without the mudslinging as well, but the sad part is that those ads we are talking about get votes!

The worst part is that those that let those ads influence their vote are absolute morons!

Because of campaign finance laws that go into effect next year the parties must spend all the money this year so there is nearly an unlimited amount of cash floating around.

On the other hand, I'll take a political attack ad any day over a Preparation H commercial during a meal!:p

Here's your next commercial: "Don't vote for candidate x, he/she uses Preparation H!"

:p

same feeling here.

I can not stand it anymore, lets get the election over with.
I'm so sick with all those ads on TV, bashing each other.
All those ugly banner on the roadside. Does it work really ?
I mean, when you drive and see one of those banner, will you think "hmm, I think I will vote for xxx because his/her banner looks cool ?"

My favorite is the ads that attack a candidate for voting no to new jobs. Who falls for that? Do people actually believe that a candidate had a bill before them where all they had to do was vote yes, and voila, a thousand new, high paying jobs! I also wonder who votes for a candidate based on their pledges to create more jobs. Doesn't everybody want to do this? Is anybody running on a platform of less jobs? Yet every candidate feels the need to just repeat over and over that they are for more jobs. Hardly anyone actually says how they'll do it, but they all will do it. What kind of sheep actually fall for these ads?

Yup. "Candidate x voted against this!" (fine print: Bill# ___) What they don't tell you is that Bill#___ prolly had some rider attached that was wholly unrelated and despicable.
