Ikea now sells wireless charging furniture. That is news to me. Not sure if you guys had seen that before.

Basically it's a series of furniture and accessories (eg. lamps) that accepts wireless charging pads they make, and matched to special charging cases for the phones. Only Samsung Galaxy series and iPhones are current supported though.

"Only Samsung Galaxy series (with optional back panel/case) and iPhones (with clunky plug-in case on it) are supported."

And all the other devices that have Qi built in!

It is supposedly Qi, but I have tried 4-5 different products (dedicated bases, lamps, etc) in two different IKEA stores and I have yet to have my Nexus 6 actually charge on any of them. To be fair the demo units may not be fully functional - The lights were lit so they had power but there may be more to it than is obvious.

Weird. Though...in an Ikea store...were the demo units made of cardboard with a printed "on" light?

:p

Personally I would just take the whole thing as as excuse to get a router and some of the diy 3-coil kits and start implanting them into side tables and countertops all over my home. :ninja:

It always worries me when the demo units are broken...doesn't say much for the longevity of the product in question :p
