Ikea now rents vans

They have a guy from Enterprise near the "home delivery" desk renting minivans, vans and pick-ups for the large-vehicle challenged. $55 for the whole package (insurance, unlimited mileage, etc) for 24 hours of use. There's a key drop, so you don't have to return the thing during business hours. An Ikea/Enterprise Dodge Caravan (2005) served us well this past weekend. This is like 10x better than renting a truck from U-Suck-Haul, and it's way better than the $99 minimum for home delivery from Ikea. Plus it would suck to rent something, go to Ikea, the decide you don't want to buy anything. 😀
 
Well, they've had that service like... forever here in Europe! 🙂 Glad to see USA is catching up... 🙂
 
More of these services and people won't have excuses to buy their own SUV or truck anymore. 🙂

BTW, the guy told me that they've been doing it for only a couple of weeks so far. I think they're doing it as a test for the Brooklyn store they are trying to build. I think it would be super popular over there to rent-out vans.
