I'm going to getting a Ikea Jerker Desk in a couple hours.

Where can one pick up accessories for this desk ? Like the extra side shelves ?

Wow, that's a nice desk, how much is it? I can't find it on Ikea's US website.

Are you buying it used? IIRC, IKEA discontinued the Jerker and replaced it with another model that is similar, but not nearly as good IMO.

It's unfortunate - I am currently looking for a new computer desk and learned about the Jerker about a week after they quit making it.

QFT. This desk is great if you're in college and you move a lot. The whole thing is connected with metal beams and screws so it can completely disassemble without being damaged.

I'm getting it free from someone on craigslist. I just gotta pick it up.

I was gonna buy one that was further down south, but this person is giving it away free,
so I told em I'd take it and will be picking it up later today

No stock in my area for me to buy in store.
How much are their shipping usually ?

Not sure, the Mikael is awesome though, let me grab a picture for you of mine. I took the third monitor off to make room for my laptop but you'll get the idea. Took me under 10 min to build and it's easy to move.

This is just one example, but the shipping on a $300 table came out to nearly $500 when I tried to buy it through IKEA's website.

Yea shipping furniture is pretty crazy.

I think I saw the same desk you were talking about for $20 bucks picked up right near me.
If the Jerker does doesn't workout, i'd probably pick that up.

Just wait. Shipping from Ikea is an absolute scam. I'm looking to pick up a $270 couch and they want $130 + tax to ship the damn thing out. I'm tempted to go to another store and just buy a $400 couch with free/reasonable shipping.

I bought the same one too. Got the hatch, glass top and the rollout drawer unit. Looks sweet in black!

Not trying to hate, but what's so impressive about three pieces of particleboard placed together to make a desk?

The fact that it cost me 60 dollars and I can move it in 10 seconds? This is a thread about Ikea dude, why are you expecting hand carved wood desks made out of extinct brazillian rosewood? There's nothing impressive at all about it, the illustration was meant to show how much it can hold because the picture on their website sucks and also for people who want to buy a desk like the Jerker that apparently isn't made anymore.
