$30 Jyssen charger
$5 drillbit
Qi-enabled device (available aftermarket as cases for iPhones, Galaxies, etc.)

I've been using Qi on my iPhones for awhile with great results. Takes longer to charge, but I have a CHOE charger at work, home, and in the center console of my car. Works great

Kinda cool. I say 'kinda' because they look a bit clunky and ugly. I wish they made it more flush with the table surface. There's several places around the house I'd put something like that, but I can't see my wife loving the idea of drilling up the furniture. Ironically, it's at work where I'd probably put one or something similar, since I can drill up my office furniture all I like. (I own it.)

I'm never going back from wireless charging- my Note 3 (and soon Note 4) is always charged cause it's nearly always on one. I'm still hoping for a completely internal iPhone 6 charging hack for my wife's phone, but not holding my breath.

Kaido, what's a CHOE charger? Is it some faster type of wireless charger? (edit: n/m I think I read it wrong where you were saying "but..." as if that was some different type of charger. ) :)

I see more IKEA furnished home fires in the future. Their stuff is mostly crap.

good idea but the implementation looks kinda ugly. I also feel a more flushed design would have been preferable.

It's a nice solution for stores (restaurants, coffee shops...etc).
I don't see myself drilling my furniture for that.

Just a cheap Qi charger: ($23 is very inexpensive compared to other models)

They have a new model out, haven't tried it yet:

I would do it if it covered a range, like two feet of countertop so I could just toss it anywhere when I get home. Or like half of a desk if I'm at my computer, like Intel was showing off:

I wonder if the final version will be available in black or brushed aluminum or something.

Qi is still wayyyyy too freakin difficult to place correctly to be an ideal solution. I need a 6-by-6-inch matt that I can drop the phone down on. having to position it correctly on the pad is really annoying.

I even have little rubber feet guides that hold it in the right area for me and it's still really annoying to use. better than plugging in, but really annoying, because I have to think about it each time

You can try something like the Panasonic ChargePad which has a motorized charging point that will move to match your phone. It happens to be close to 6x6 inches too!
