What do you think of the Iiyama i70A 17" monitor for ~$294 shipped direct from Iiyama? Does it have excellent image quality and how is its reliability? Thanks for your help.

It has excellent image and reliability, Iiyama is one of the best monitor makers out there. The i70A is decent, but not great. There is a better 17" out there, the Samsung SyncMaster 700NF, $289 shipped.

I'd say if you put both monitors beside each other you would never be able to tell the difference except for the difference in their housings. Both monitors use the exact same Mitsubishi DiamondTron CRT. The Iiyama has slightly higher refresh rate and video B/W specs.

Also, since Onvia has dropped free shipping and raised their prices, I imagine you will find the Iiyama to be the better deal now. Whatever you choose, you ought to be very happy with either monitor.

<<The Iiyama has slightly higher refresh rate and video B/W specs>>

Again, it show very clearly that you dont know the facts...

700NF - 205MHz video bandwidth, 1920x1440@64Hz max, 1024x768@119Hz optimum, BNC/D-sub
i70A - 130MHz video bandiwdth, 1600x1200@60Hz max, 1024x768@85Hz optimum, D-sub

After reading the above specs, wouldnt you agree the 700NF blows away the i70A?
