I think this ones a pretty good deal. i went to pricewatch and didn't see prices for iiyama 19" anywhere near this price. this is the S900M model.
I have the 17" Vision Master Pro....had it for maybe 2 years....nothing compares to it I've seen at work. LCD's, trinitrons, dells, gateways, 17", 19", 21".....it's just nice.
Only grip I would have with the Iiyama Pro series is the weight....they're heavy suckers....
liyama's resolution hurts my eyes. The CS dept at my school wasted whole stash of money to get this brand, which is 17", but they have money to spend anyway.
However, I would NEVER spend anything for this brand. PERIOD.
I have 2 19" Vision Master Pro 450 i have to say they are one of best monitors i have ever owned. iiyama's warranty and service is one of the best. My son decided to take a magnet and touch the screen on one of mine and it left a black mark in the tube . I called iiyama they fedex 2nd day me a new monitor and i put the old monitor in the box they sent me and shipped it back to them.
No it sure didn?t I tried that first. What it did was blackened the area on the tube in the right corner where the magnet touched. I about went through the roof when I came home and found out. I was very pissed. Magnets and monitors don't mix. Oh well iiyama's service was excellent.
This is a new 'value' model from Iiyama and does not have the same features as the others have always had. I would say be weary of this model until you get some input from someone else, but then again considering Iiyama's track record it may turn out to be a great monitor(for the money).
I personally have their 17" 8617A purchased in February 1995 and it is still going strong. In fact, I just got that 19" Compaq and feel the Iiyama's color is better..
I think this is their shadow mask monitor based on a Hitachi CRT. The VM Pro series is an AG monitor based on a DiamondTron. They also have a newer model (90A? I believe) that is the same as the VM Pro but without the speakers and USB hub. From my experience, the Iiyamas are the best version of the DiamondTron CRT out there, besting even Mitsubishi (who makes the DiamondTron CRTs). I'd rate them Iiyama/Mitsubishi/Samsung. The 'Mit gets 2nd place over the Samsung for its Fine Pitch one-touch feature.
