iGuard PC: how to remove it?

So my kid is surfing the 'net when she comes to tell me that her PC is getting all sorts of pop ups about her computer being infected. I check it out and see a screen mimicking the MS Security Center screen. A quick bit of research and I found something called iGuard PC is the offending malware.
But nothing I have tried has been able to remove it. Any suggestions? Thank you.

A good scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and SuperAntiSpyware should clean it up good. You may have to slave the drive to another computer to get them to run though.

try using MSConfig and disable everything in startup.

then install and run Superantispyware and/or Malwarebytes Antimalware.
