This site is an absolute unabashed disaster. It is full to the hilt with unnecessary links, graphics, javascript. It actually slows my machine down, and when a page is partially loaded it's unviewable; basically the background graphics for, say, X360, are green and with the text being black, it's impossible until full load to read (or one can drag and highlight to read, which looks terrible). Full load is slow, though, because their servers are lethargic (at least for non-paying members) and in any case a code-happy mess. Every page is a vast cacophony of menus and client-side coded links that bring shame to the site.

Agreed. I used to love going to IGN's site, but now I dread it. It takes forever for pages to load. Too much crap going on at once now.

It's a little more bearable if you use FF + NoScript + AdBlock Plus. I use Flashblock too for those annoying flash commercials. Makes page loading a whole lot faster for me.
