Ignore entire threads?

Is there a way to add a feature where I can ignore an entire thread so it never shows up for me when I view that forum?

My wife really loves animals and sometimes lurks with my account... The "soldier throws puppy off cliff" thread would totally ruin her day if she saw even the title in the forum list. I'd like to be able to block that thread from even popping up for me.
