Looks like he hopped on board the "flat" train because lunatics part with cash more readily and he needed funding. The return parachute was torn off early during ascent, he must have had a good 5-6 seconds of knowing he was done for before he hit the desert floor. Poor design, no redundancy on a critical component like a decent parachute.

Evil's parachute deployed very early and he went into the canyon below after the wind brought him backwards. Investors lost their ass on this LOL, this guy paid with his life. Part of rocket development is live testing with no one aboard, apparently he didn't do this.
