OK, 2002 camry. I got home the other day. Switched the car off and pulled out the keys. I realized the car was still running. I can put the keys in and out and turn, but nothing happened. I had to open up the steering column to unplug things from the ignition, then it turned off.
I can't turn it on though. WHere you expect that spring loaded resistance to start the car, there is none.

I've found replacements locally. But I can't find any good pictures/diagrams/videos of how to pull the old one out. I can find info on previous generations, but it doesn't seem to apply to mine.

Does anyone have an idea on howto pull the ignition switch on my car?

one of my sons friends asked me to help him finish a 2001 camaro with the same issue, but when i got there it wasnt the cylinder that was bad. he had already bought the new lock cylinder, but the assembly the key turns is all busted, making the key just spin back and forth without the spring feeling you described.
