IGMP Issue

I got a wifi setup with 6 TP Link access points. The net works fine for some time but then it crashes randomly after a few hours or days. The setup is as follows:
6 TP Link Access points (TL-WA801ND) ---> Cisco Small Business Switch (SG102-24) -----> Linksys WRT 1900AC router

All access points have the same SSID and securty settings.

After playing around with wireshark, I found that the issue occurs randomly when the user switches between access points. During that time, wireshark shows that 2 or more access points flood the network with IGMPV2 Memership group report messages

To get out of this loop, I remove all the access points one by one, until only one is left connected and everything goes back to normal. The story repeats itslef as soon as I switch from one access point to the other.

I need help from you guys on how to fix this issue, do I change the access points or should I replace the network switch with a managed switch.

Thanks

Are there specific APs that are doing it? Because that is extremely odd. Latest firmware on them?

I've been running 3 APs (technically one is in my router) and I've never seen IGMP flooding from any of them or other network stability issues, devices roaming or not roaming.

Hi azazel1024, thanks for the reply.

The flooding is caused by random APs, it can be a combination of any of the 6 APs e.g. sometimes it will be 2 APs, and other times its 3 APs and its not always the same AP.

I recently replaced my 2 TEW-637APs with 2 new TL-WA801NDs, and experienced that exact same issue this morning. I rebooted them to immediately stop the flooding, and then checked "Enable AP Isolation" on both units. It may take a while to see if it resolves the problem.

Interestingly, this was a known issue with the V2 devices that was subsequently fixed. These are V3, and we shouldn't expect the same issue...
