IGI2 SP demo wont install :(

I got the IGI2 sp demo* off the UK PC Gamer DVD, and after running setup.exe it seems to get about half way through unpacking the files and i get an XP error message, the usual "we're sorry blah problems blah and has had to close". Tried copying the files from DVD to HDD and get the same problem when trying to install from there.

Any ideas (or suggestions of a decent IGI2 board) ?
