IGD & PEG in Z68 mobo

I have a few question to Z68 mobo owners.

I have Biostar TZ68A+ mobo, and I use discrete graphic HD 6770.
The bios primary display is set to PEG/IGD & IGD Multi-monitor enabled.
Is the IGD automatically disabled when a discrete graphic is used ?
With discrete graphic card installed, it seems I can't boot with my monitor connected to the IGD port (no signal).
But I thought I tried to boot with either port (HD6770 or IGD) last week without a problem.
Or is it just my feeling ???

In some articles about Virtu installation with Z68 mobo, they actually recommend to connect the monitor to the IGD port instead of discrete card, which means there should be no problem whether the monitor is connected to IGD or discrete graphic port at boot.

Can Z68 users tell me whether it is normal ?
Thanks
