I guess I'm not understanding it but how does being LESS than 2.5 standard deviations from the mean make it micro? Shouldn't that read MORE than 2.5 standard deviations from the mean?

More like below 2.5 standard deviations, since we only want to count those on the low side.

OP posted an ambiguous statement... by less than 2.5 standard deviations from the mean, he meant below 2.5 sd from the mean, not within 2.5 sd's.
