If you're pro-invasion, do you think the US will be invaded in retaliation?

I'm not pro- or anti- anything (Nam was enough for me) but there's a lot of talk around the water cooler these days, and I've noticed something.

Most everyone who says we should send in the troops, says it'll be over in a few hours (or days at the most, or weeks). OTOH, the ones who think we are unleashing something extremely messy with retaliation, invasion, etc. where lots of non-military Americans will get blown up, are all against the war. Is this just the loonies I know, or is it pretty widespread?

So, if you're pro-war, do you think we're likely to see a lot of people die here in the US as a result?

Umm yea, I think canada is awaiting the Iraq attack to make their move.

Lots of people will die in America regardless of whether we invade or not. It's just a question of whether invading will increase or decrease that number.

Not invaded but there could be some retaliation of some sort. It might also strain our relations with other countries a great deal.

If they did they wouldn't be so pro invasion. In fact many proponents of war against Iraq are so because they believe that taking out Hussien now will prevent attacks on American soil by Terrorists in the future. Hopefully they are right but if they aren't then woe is us.

I think there is serious possibility if we invade that we would get retaliated against in our own country

Invaded? No.

Terroristic retaliation? Likely.

PS, not pro war.

BTW, we were not invaded on 9/11. We were attacked. Not a good thing, but there is a difference.

I didn't know that Iraq masterminded that attack. I thought is was an Islamic Fundamentalist Terrorist Organization, not a Secular Dictatorship.

Technically, I believe we are already "invaded".

By two people actually.

1. Terrorists waiting for the call
2. Government agencies who piss on personal rights in the name of "National Security".

No country would ever dream of "invading" the U.S., but if you mean more terrorist activity then I would say that we will see more regardless of what we do in Iraq.

a little bit of a tangent:

these terrorist reprisals for the invasion--are yon terrorists going to hate the US more than they already do?

"Well I hated the great satan before they invaded iraq enough to kill myself to whack some of them, but now that they had the insensitivity to whack a vaguely legitimate butthole who wasn't really helping me that much anyway I hate them enough to . . . well i'm not quite sure what, but it's bad!"

I can understand the presence of more US troops there wouldn't make 'em happy, but how much more unhappy?

Maybe if we build a steel wall high enough, when Saddam starts using his weapons against the world since we didn't stop him first, maybe the US will be okay.

We're not invading Iraq. We're just attacking them.

Really? We going to use a 747 or a 757 for that?
