If you are not able to hear, would you just go pick up a cell phone and start trying to have someone configure a router with you?
I didn't think so. You would probably use a relay service or a TTY device, right? Some people refeuse to do this...trust me, you would not want to deal with it.

if i'm not being able to hear, then i'd use other options you mentioned. not that hard but you assume so much that offended me a lot. i know many deaf people in general cannot hear but it's just a rare that deaf people can hear. it doesn't make any sense when one deaf person cannot hear that means all deaf people cannot hear too.
if you feel frustrated, that's a problem. deal with it. you know, you are not alone. my hearing parents tend to get frustrated sometimes.

I like how the drive-through ATM machine at the bank has braille on it. Then all the blind drivers can use it.

What doesn't make sense is your post.

has anyone ever taken a relay call before? its got to be the worst call you will ever receive.
an operator talks to you and types back to the deaf person. its weird because even though
you are talking to the operator, you are addressing the other person.

I always found that strange till I just assumed that all ATM's come off of the same ATM production line and so they don't distinguish between the drive through and the store models.
