It's just a dinner bill, I couldn't care less...if she wanted to set up an evening and take care of all the details, that's cool...if it's more casual, I'd still pay and not think twice about it.

Seems most as I had expected agrees that the person who setup the dinner should pay for it w/o any questions. But apparently, my SO had expected me to pay for the dinner, and got really upset afterwards when she ended up paying for it. Its really puzzling, because nothing about her would lead me to think that she would think this way....
